Principle and aims of SEFI®




SEFI® is based on the principle of patient’s self-assessment.
SEFI® allows a visual assessment of her/his food intake by the patient herself/himself, using a visual analogue scale, or a choice between consumed portions.

SEFI® takes part in the process of the screening for undernutrition and aims at improving daily care.
If SEFI® shows a risk of undernutrition, an assessment of nutritional status should be performed.

SEFI® is a scale equipped with a slider inserted into a booklet.
